What is the difference between Trading Account and Profit & Loss Account? A. The Trading Account is prepared to find out the Gross Profit or Gross Loss of a business by matching net sales against cost of goods sold and direct expenses, while the Profit & Loss Account is prepared to find the Net Profit or Net Loss by further adjusting indirect incomes and expenses. Q2. How should Wages and Salaries be treated if the question mentions them together? A. If the question says "Wages and Salaries," treat it as Wages (a direct expense going to the Trading Account), and if it says "Salaries and Wages," treat it as Salaries (an indirect expense going to the Profit & Loss Account) — the first word mentioned decides the treatment. Q3. How is Manager's Commission calculated when it is "after charging such commission"? A. When commission is calculated after charging such commission, the formula is Profit Before Commission × Rate ÷ (100 + Rate), whereas when it is "before charging such commission," the formula is simply Profit Before Commission × Rate ÷ 100. Q4. Why can't Bad Debts and Bad Debts Recovered be shown as a net figure in the Profit & Loss Account? A. Bad Debts Recovered is a separate income item and must be shown distinctly on the credit side of the Profit & Loss Account, while Bad Debts is shown separately as an expense on the debit side — netting them together is incorrect even if the examiner presents a net figure in the Trial Balance. ⏱ Timestamps: 0:00 Introduction — Final Accounts Overview 1:03 Trading Account Format 3:39 Profit & Loss Account Format 4:43 Balance Sheet & Closing Capital 5:55 Wages vs Salaries Shortcut 8:08 Sales Return vs Purchase Return 11:01 All Key Adjustments — TB vs Additional Info Rule 15:04 Interest on Loan — Hidden Outstanding Interest 17:43 Goods Taken/Given as Sample/Charity 19:36 Goods Destroyed by Fire & Insurance Claim 21:54 Bad Debt Recovery Rule 23:53 Manager's Commission — Before vs After Charging 26:28 Sale and Return — 4 Effects 28:33 Sum 1: Mr. Arvind — Full Solution 1:05:41 Sum 2: Partnership Final Accounts — Full Solution 1:37:06 Closing & Recap 🔔 Subscribe for more One Shot Revisions of CMA Inter Group 1 & Group 2 — Financial Accounting, Corporate Accounting & more, only on this channel! 📲 Follow for updates: 📚 Join Our CA/ CMA Foundation & Intermediate Classes 👉 Modes: Face-to-Face (Kolkata), Live Online, Google Drive, and Pendrive 📞 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐬𝐀𝐩𝐩: / 🌐 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭: ‎🌐 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐬𝐀𝐩𝐩 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐥: 🌐 𝐓𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦: 🌐 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦: #CMAInter #FinalAccounts #FinancialAccounting
