The new education scheme has caused some problems, like the SPOM Set A and Set B, which CA Parag Gupta says often have issues with leaked question sets. He thinks that of these mandatory modules the ICAI should go back to the strengths of the 2022-23 scheme. This means bringing back core subjects like Law and Costing into the papers. Importantly he suggests making IBS an elective rather than a compulsory paper. This way students can choose a specialization that matches their career goals, such as Artificial Intelligence, Risk Management, Forex or Transfer Pricing.
