IND AS Simplified - RoadMap to NBFC & Insurance Companies
Hey guys! Quick update on the accounting rules for NBFCs and Insurance companies! 📉📊 First off, you can cross insurance companies off your list for now—the applicability hasn't kicked in for them just yet. But if we're talking about NBFCs, like Bajaj Finance or AB Capital, here is the exact roadmap you need to know: 🚀 Phase 1: Starting from April 1, 2018, any NBFC—whether listed or unlisted—with a net worth of ₹500 crore or more must be Ind AS compliant. Essentially, they were given a 2-year leeway compared to normal companies. And yes, this rule applies to their holding companies, subsidiaries, joint ventures, and associates too! 🚀 Phase 2: This kicks in from April 1, 2019. It applies to other listed NBFCs, and unlisted NBFCs that have a net worth between ₹250 crore and ₹500 crore. Just like Phase 1, their holding companies, subsidiaries, JVs, and associates have to follow suit. One massive takeaway: Don't get confused about your financial statements! These accounting standards are applicable for BOTH your consolidated balance sheets and your individual, standalone financial statements. There are absolutely zero exemptions allowing you to use one standard for standalone and a different one for consolidated. #NBFC #IndAS #AccountingStandards #FinanceReels #CorporateFinance #FinancialReporting #CAStudents #CharteredAccountancy #BajajFinance #ABCapital #AccountingRules #FinanceUpdates #NetWorth #ConsolidatedFinancials #StandaloneFinancials #FinanceEducation
