Set Off in Ind AS Explained | When Netting is Allowed & When It Is Not | Set Off vs Separate | Twist
Set-off is not automatically allowed just because the same party is involved. Under Indian Accounting Standards, net presentation is allowed only when: ✔ There is a legal right to set off ✔ There is an intention to settle on a net basis If receipt and payment will actually happen separately (different timings / credit periods), then balances must be shown separately — no netting allowed. Foundation approach: Set off lower amount Ind AS approach: Legal permissibility + actual net settlement intention are both necessary. #IndAS #AccountingStandards #SetOff #NettingOff #BalanceSheet #FinancialReporting #CAFinal #CAInter #Commerce #AccountingConcepts #Audit #Finance #CharteredAccountant #Accounts #IndAS32
