Neutrality. Neutrality is what we call being "unbiased." Got it? Unbiased. If you are biased towards anyone, your representation just won't be faithful. Just think about it—suppose there’s someone younger than you at home, and let's say they break something. If you want to save them from getting a beating from your dad, your representation won't be faithful at all. Let's say your little sister broke the TV, right? Now, you want to protect the kid. Tell me, won't you give biased information to your dad?. You'll say something like, "Dad, I don't know how it broke." You get what I'm saying? You might say, "Dad, we just turned the TV on and it broke."You'll make up whatever it takes to save that kid from getting a scolding. So, the whole point of the story is that neutrality brings faithful presentation; they are entirely connected to each other. But you also have to understand that we simply have to stay neutral. We shouldn't be biased towards the government, worrying that if we show too much profit we'll end up paying more tax. We shouldn't be biased towards the shareholders either—like, showing a profit even when there wasn't one. Hello?. We shouldn't be biased towards the lenders, thinking we absolutely have to show a good Interest Coverage Ratio or a really good EBIT. Hello?. Because if you do that, you might end up taking a bunch of expenses that belong inside EBIT and just throwing them out below it. Bottom line: don't be biased towards anyone. You stay neutral, and your financial statements will be considered "true and fair". #CAIntermediate #Neutrality #Unbiased #FaithfulRepresentation #TrueAndFair #FinancialStatements #Accounting #CAIntermediate #AccountingConcepts #AccountingStandards #TrueAndFairView #Neutrality #FinancialStatements #CAStudents #CAAspirants #CAIndia #CommerceStudents #AccountingBasics #ConceptClarity #LearnAccounting #StudySmart #ICAI
