Ind AS 19 is actually a very interesting and approachable standard. Although it contains a significant amount of content, the concepts flow smoothly and are quite logical. As a result, studying this standard is generally comfortable and enjoyable. From a knowledge perspective, it is also a very valuable standard. If you have already studied AS 15, you will find that nearly 99% of the concepts are familiar. If you have not studied AS 15, or if you studied it long ago and no longer remember it, there is no issue at all. We will build the concepts completely from scratch. Ind AS 19 classifies Employee Benefits into four categories. So, if someone asks: How many types of Employee Benefits are there under Ind AS 19? The answer is four. 1. Short-Term Employee Benefits These are benefits expected to be settled within the short term. 2. Post-Employment Benefits These are benefits provided after an employee’s employment has ended. 3. Other Long-Term Employee Benefits Notice that the standard does not simply use the term “Long-Term Employee Benefits.” Instead, it uses the term “Other Long-Term Employee Benefits.” There is a specific reason for this terminology, which we will discuss later. 4. Termination Benefits These include benefits arising from: Retrenchment, Voluntary Retirement Schemes (VRS), and Other forms of employment termination. These four categories form the structure of Ind AS 19. #IndAS19 #EmployeeBenefits #AccountingStandards #CAFinal #CAInter #CharteredAccountancy #Finance #Accounting #FinancialReporting #CorporateFinance #Commerce #AccountingEducation #CAStudents #LearningAccounting #ProfessionalCourses #AccountingTeacher #FinanceTraining #SAGC #IndianGAAP #IndASLearning
